Job Title: Inventory Specialist

Birmingham International Forest Products is a premier commodity trading company in the forest products industry that is proud to be a part of a $7B employee-owned company, Forest City Trading Group. Due to our recent growth and plans for further expansion, we are looking to hire an Inventory Specialist.   

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage inventory processes, ensuring timely shipments, inventory progression, and accurate daily updates.
  • Reconcile accounts, analyze actual costs, and identify inaccuracies, including cost prediction and recording for raw materials, labor, and operations.
  • Maintain relationships with mills and clients, ensuring products are manufactured and distributed correctly while resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Generate and send invoices, while managing inventory records, tracking damaged or incorrect inventory, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Order management and tracking
  • Updating spreadsheets and key systems with transactional data such as expenses and sales revenues
  • Reaching out (phone calls/emails) to mills and reload facilities to collect Bill of Ladings (BOLs)
  • Entering purchase orders and order confirmations into order management software
  • Processing shipping invoices for payment
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is preferred but not required.
